Lydiane Lutz

Uplifting – this is the best expression to describe the works of Lydiane Lutz. The artist employs an interplay of impasto and glazed areas of color. The motifs alternate between impressionistically depicted, figurative set pieces and expressive abstraction. A powerful energy emanates from the rich, luminous color palette.

Lydiane Lutz’s approach to painting is fundamental. Her brushwork shows the joy of color. Stylistically, the artist follows in the footsteps of the great masters of coloring such as John Singer Sargent, Claude Monet and Berthe Morisot. In their partly abstract sketchiness, her works are reminiscent of Monet’s late water lily paintings.

Lutz (born 1981 in Stuttgart) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under Prof. Klein and Prof. Wähner. She lives and works in Ulm.
