Kinga Su x EXOgallery
For the gallery’s first anniversary, we are launching a surprise product by one of our resident artists Kinga Su. Wearable Art | Silk Scarfs in a limited edition are available from May 13.
The image that formed the basis of the scarf pattern was based on the myth of Persephone. I like to draw on Greek mythology – these are resources that artists have used for centuries. Myths are very artistically inspiring and allow for personal interpretation.
The myth of Persephone was familiar to me from my childhood, when I passionately read Greek mythology, but I didn’t pay much attention to it – there were others that I found more interesting. However, when I remembered the story of Persephone a few months ago, I noticed many similarities to my life and assimilated the tale. I live now in France, my husband’s homeland, – I was not kidnapped on a golden chariot, but is it necessary to take everything literally?
